Design #1: 75 Pax

The Sea Change is SWITCH’s flagship zero-emissions ferry, powered by hydrogen fuel cells and batteries.

Construction on the Sea Change began in Alameda, CA at Bay Ship and Yacht, where fabrication of the hull and superstructure was started. The vessel was then transferred to All American Marine in Bellingham, WA for the installation of the fuel cells, hydrogen storage tanks, other equipment and completion of the vessel build.

Sea Change is now complete and the vessel began operating in San Francisco in Q3 2024.

Sea Change is a 70-foot, 75-passenger vessel. Its electric propulsion system consists of 2x 300kW electric motors, powered by 360kW of PEM fuel cells and 100kWh of lithium ion batteries. 240kgs of hydrogen are stored in gaseous form on the top deck at a pressure of 250 bar.

Design #2: 150 Pax

SWITCH is developing its next-gen 150 pax zero-carbon passenger ferry design, ready to integrate into your fleet with hydrogen fuel cell and/or battery electric capabilities.

Design #3: 300 Pax

SWITCH is developing its 300 pax zero-carbon passenger ferry design, for longer routes and higher passenger volumes.

SWITCH Maritime LH2 RoPax Ferry

Design #4: RoPax

SWITCH plans to commence the US construction of the existing 80-car, 300-passenger RoPax vehicle ferry design (DNVGL-classed) that is successfully operating in Norway on liquid hydrogen fuel.
